Went from 385 lbs to 245 in 10 years and have experienced serious complications. The complications are severe vomiting and severe reflux. I experience a fever and weakness after the vomiting. I have been checked for stomach cancer (via scope and biopsies) all were negative. Barrets syndrome was discovered and I have underwent ( 6 to date) scope & dialation procedures due to a stricture near the band on the esophagus. Some relief but at the present time I have been throwing up all food and drink for the last 36 hours. Unless the pre-weight loss medical conditions are life threatening I would not recommend this procedure. At this time I do not know the outcome as I am still vomiting and have no advice from the GI Specialist to continue the dilation's. I am careful what I eat and keep my portions size quite small. My last meal prior to this bout of vomiting and re flux was 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of mashed potatoes, 1/2 slice of whole wheat toast, 4 oz of apple juice and 1 cup of coffee. I have not been able to keep anything down (including water) for almost 2 days. I submit this respectfully and do not know the outcome at this time. My e mail is: bchimself47@gmail.com if you care to communicate.
