I just recently read about this sleep apnea phenomenon. I almost always fall asleep at around 2 or 3 PM, even though I feel like I should have slept enough already.
What's the best way to check to see if I may have sleep apnea? Tape myself sleeping?
There are lots of on-line diagnostic tools for all sorts of conditions, but I think for this one you really need to go see a sleep doctor. A lot of times you can have sleep apnea without the other common symptoms like snoring or excess weight.
Sleep apnea is a serious problem. If you think you might have it, go see a doctor and get checked out!
Check out the Sleep Apnea Symptoms page. Do you have the symptoms shown there?
If you live or sleep with someone, the best way is to have them watch you sleep. If you don't have someone to watch you sleep, then probably taping yourself is a good way to do it.
