I havent done it regularly enough, but out of three times I went while I was in the early stages of a migraine, one of those times the migraine went away with acupuncture. Had it done in a chinese herb shop in Chinatown, SF.

My particular experience with migraines was related to the hormonal changes directly following the birth of each of my three children. I had only experienced a migraine headache one other time in life, also due to the hormonal changes of adolescence, however I did not know about acupuncture at that time. For each of my postpartum migraine experiences, I was determined to find a solution without the use of drugs, because I was committed to nursing my babies. I found that a combination of acupuncture and acupressure saved me from an otherwise extremely debilitating pain. I highly, highly recommend this treatment for those experiencing migraines due to hormonal changes.

How often did you go before your migraines subsided? That's so great to hear you combined two practices to get the maximum benefits! Both have great healing powers.

My acupuncturist said that some practitioners have great success with migraines while others do not; ask yours if he or she has had much experience treating migraines.
