it was painful immediantly after the second biopsy was taken. i had taken a xanax prior to the procedure to relax me and it did relax me however my body had a rather intense reaction to the pain and my blood pressure dropped, i was very hot and sweaty profusily, my vison blurred and i had intense pain at the biopsy site. the nurses were able to stabilize me within a few mins. i couldn't lay on my right side instead i held a saline bag to the biopsy site and drifted off to sleep with pain medicine. i say if it's needed then by all means do it. it would be better if one could be put to sleep for the procedure. i think.
