Experiences with Knee Replacement

I had TKR surgery 2 years ago. At that time I saw about 3 or 4 orthopedic surgeons and they all recommended surgery. Now, in hind sight which is always 20/20, I wish I had tried every thing else before I underwent the surgery. I am still in a lot of pain and my daily activities are limited. I wish I had tried yoga, swimming and PT before turning to the LAST resort FIRST. Sometimes, I feel, that the body has the amazing ability to heal itself thru alternative methods. As surgeons would like you to believe, surgery may not be the only option. Now, I am doing yoga, swimming and have found a good PT in the hopes that I will feel great again.

I have had both hip and knee replacement. Rocovery from knee replacement is more difficult. I had to have my knee prosthesis replaced because it had come loose. Now I have swelling in my knee that the surgeon cannot explain. I have had fluid drained from my knee twice. I am currently waiting for the results of the analysis of the fluid.
