I was prescribed an antidepressant years ago for anxiety and it didn't work out so well. I found I gained more from counseling than from the pills. When I decided to stop using them, I experienced withdrawal symptoms for weeks. I'd recommend exploring other options first.

I have tried Celexa, Zoloft, and Lexapro. They are all great, but if you can avoid going on meds, I would do it...I've been on meds for so long and I just wish I remember how it felt to not be on anything; I hope to experience that soon, but in the meantime, I'm still taking meds to cope with my panic attacks and anxiety.

Tried alexa for three years now with no side effects and does a perfect job of relieving my stress and reducing my blues. My symptoms were mostly difficulty finding joy, hyper sensitive to negative responses, and inward anger when little problems occurred.
