If CT scan of abdomen is required , always prefer contrast ct scan because it gives more detail information than plain one.

This scan was ordered for me when I was a child. Aside from the contrast (it tasted like mint-flavored chalk), it was a very comfortable experience. The images it produced were fascinating!

The abdominal cat scan was informative - but I was nursing at the time, and had to dispose of any milk that might have had the contrast in it. Except for that it was a fine experience with useful results.
