I have had aortobifemoral bypass (both Femoral arteries). My doctor used the wrong grafting material and I had a 2nd where he used a vein from my leg and put stents in. These were 1 year apart. I now have 100% blockage again on my left side so I need to undergo the same surgery a year later. It seems every year I have to have this done. The original doctor also put the fake veins too close to my urthera and now I have to have surgery to correct that. Just make sure you have the best surgeon. I had found another one but his office closed because of a contract. I am hoping he opens again soon somewhere because I went to mayo and I did not like what they had to say. Good luck to anyone who has to have this surgery, you are out for about 7 weeks. It is best to have this surgery in the summer so you can wear a dress or guys can go shirtless but still the pants have to loose on the waist because of the rubbing where they opened you up that is why a dress is perfect. But if you need this surgery there is nothing you can do but have it or lose your leg(s).
