Shared experience with Depression and SAM-E 13 years ago

My acupuncturist suggested that I try SAM-E in addition to acupuncture for depression. I agreed because I did some research and found that it has many other benefits as well. After a few weeks I felt good enough to exercise, which seemed nearly impossible before. I also had an easier time getting out of bed in the morning which had been a daily struggle.

Shared experience with Depression and Yoga 13 years ago

I love yoga. I've practiced on and off for almost 15 years, and whenever I'm consistent about it I see improvements in my mood, energy and stress level. Just taking the time to focus on breathing deep, clearing your mind and stretching out the day's stress goes a long way.

Shared experience with Depression and Acupuncture 13 years ago

I've tried acupuncture for many issues over the years, and depression is one of them. While the treatment didn't have immediate results, I definitely felt better over time (within a few weeks). The best part about this kind of treatment is that there were no negative side effects. I've noticed that a lot of people are hesitant to try acupuncture because of the needles; while it does take some getting used to, it's not painful, and the positive effects far outweigh any discomfort you may experience.
