I used Zicam (Zn spray gel) for a long time. It worked wonders for my colds and flu. Was terribly disappointed when it was taken off the market -- b/c of anosmia (loss of smell) issues. I realize there is that risk, but it is way overblown, IMO. Anyway, I just make my own "Zicam" now -- use zinc gluconate tablets, crushed. Dissolve in water, mix n a gel, and place in a spray bottle. Works great.
