About Me

I wish "music is my life" wasn't so cliché, because that's probably the best way to describe how I feel about it. I come from a long line of singers, musicians, and DJs. Some of my earliest memories are singing songs that came out 30 years before I was born with my grandmother. I breathe this stuff.

Combine that with a passion for promoting mental health and working with children and it's no surprise that I'm on my way to becoming a Music Therapist. In the meantime, I'm filling my brain with as many ways to keep the mind, heart, and soul happy and healthy.

How I Stay Healthy

I keep my body healthy with regular trips to the gym and Yin Yoga sessions. I take care of my mind with mediation and of course, music!

My Experience with Health Challenges

In 2001, I spent much of the summer in the hospital to have a cyst about the size of a volleyball removed from my abdomen. It wasn't particularly fun but it was my first experience with a children's hospital and I think some of the doctors and nurses I met there are a part of what inspired me to work in the children's health field.

Other than that, my most common issues are allergies and anxiety. I've been managing both for years and though they're still with me, I learn new and more effective ways to control them all the time.

It definitely is possibile to get this kind of herpes in the eyes. However, it typically won't cause blindness unless it is left completely untreated and allowed to spread.

4. The Tapping Sequence: Tap about 7 times on each of the energy points in these 2 diagrams, while repeating a brief phrase that reminds you of the problem.

5. Determine your distress level again on a scale of 0 to 10 again. If it’s still high, say:

“Even though I have some remaining _ (problem), I deeply and completely accept myself.”

6. Repeat from Step 1 till your distress level is as close to 0 as possible.

Gary Craig, the founder of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), describes it as an “emotional version of acupuncture, except needles aren’t necessary” necessary.” It resembles acupuncture in the fact that it is based around the concept of energy pathways (known as meridians) that, when blocked, cause health issues. Instead of needles, those who practice EFT simply tap or rub on each meridian involved. It shares some of hypnotherapy’s characteristics as well, as part of using EFT involves the repetition of affirmations and other phrases.

The object of EFT is desensitization, which makes it popular for those affected by fear phobias, PTSD and anxiety. It encourages the acceptance and love of the self , health issues includeddespite whatever health challenges one may face.
