is very cheap and inexpensive for ointment, and am on valtrex daily as well. had a breakout do to taking protein shakes(has arginine amino acids in it which feeds herpes) so stopped with that type of shake, and gone, and as far as zinc oxide, tried it in the middle of small fever blisters and they not only healed faster, but took the dryness and cracking away immediatly. next day, noticeable difference. taking valtrex daily 500mg too but for appearance the zinc oxide does wonders.
