After being diagnosed with sciatica during the third trimester of my pregnancy, I was told by a medical doctor that there was no available treatment other than tylenol and bedrest. However, I received one acupuncture treatment which gave me immeasurable relief. Following the session, I only experienced a faint "shadow" of the pain I had previously. I went from barely being able to move without pain, to being able to walk and move comfortably.

My particular experience with migraines was related to the hormonal changes directly following the birth of each of my three children. I had only experienced a migraine headache one other time in life, also due to the hormonal changes of adolescence, however I did not know about acupuncture at that time. For each of my postpartum migraine experiences, I was determined to find a solution without the use of drugs, because I was committed to nursing my babies. I found that a combination of acupuncture and acupressure saved me from an otherwise extremely debilitating pain. I highly, highly recommend this treatment for those experiencing migraines due to hormonal changes.
