Entecavir, also known as Baraclude, is given orally or in tablet form to adults and adolescents older than 16 years of age to treat chronic hepatitis B virus infection.
• To gain the most benefit, do not miss doses.
• Use prescription as directed, even if feeling better.
• Take this medicine on an empty stomach. Take 2 hours before or 2 hours after meals.
• A liquid (solution) is available if you cannot swallow pills.
• Those who have feeding tubes can also use the liquid. Flush the feeding tube before and after medicine is given (feeding should be delayed 2 hours after receiving medicine).
