Can you add L-theanine to your list of herb treatments for Generalized Anxiety Disorder? This is a pretty common supplement for this condition. Even my MD knows about it. I was on Neurontin (Gabapentin) for over 10 years for Anxiety. It worked okay, but had terrible side effects. I switched to L-theanine and it works better than Neurotin ever did and I have no side effects. I had to start with 1600-2000 mg of L-theanine per day. Once my body got used to it, I was able to reduce this to 600 mg per day. Please ignore the people that suggest you take 100-200 mg per day -- it takes a lot more than that to have an effect. When I first started my anxiety was pretty high and I would take 200-400 mg every 2 hours or so. I just take 200 in the morning and 400 in the evening now for maintenance. Again -- no side effects.

I have low back pain due to osteo arthritis. I tried physical therapy and it made the problem worse. Ginger, 2 grams=2000 milligrams (4 capsules for most brands), per day has helped quite a bit. By the way, the brand makes a difference. Nature's Answer or Nature's Way both work, while the Vitacost house brand had me in terrible pain when I tried to switch to it instead. Actually, I need to take BOTH ginger and Hyaluronic Acid to get the pain to go away. I take 4 capsules of BioCell Collagen II which contains hyaluronic acid, chondroitin, and collagen. There are multiple brands of this -- I happen to take Doctors Best.
I've been on this combination of Ginger and Hyaluronic Acid for about 2 years, and have almost no pain. Before discovering this combo, I would wake up crying most nights because my back was so painful.

... (more)I bought a Nikken PowerBand. I've had sciatica for about 3 weeks. It starts once I've been sleeping a few hours. I wrapped the Powerband around my knee, and within 10 minutes my sciatica pain stopped. I have had the powerband successfully stop the pain about 5 times -- I was woken up by sciatica, put on the magnetic PowerBand and the pain stopped within 10 minutes. I started wearing the band to bed and don't have a problem when I remember to do that. When I forget, the pain starts so I have to get up and find the band and put it on. It has worked every time I've used it.
